Califia Pressure Control

Published by IBS on

The pressure pump is designed to deliver a pulse into the arterial line depending on the stroke volume of the left ventricle and the heart rate.  Assuming that the distal end of the arterial limb is clamped, the pressure in the line will be determined by the arterial valve which will vary the resistance to the flow back to the reservoir (see Figure 7). If “Pressure Control” is activated, the resistance of the arterial valve will be regulated to maintain the pressure in this arterial limb equal to the patient’s arterial blood pressure as displayed on the OR Monitor.
